A delegation from the Arab Women Investors Union, headed by Dr. Hoda Yassa, at the 2023 African Women Summit held in Cape Town – the capital of South Africa, on the influence of women’s leadership in sustainable development, and in the speech of Dr. Hoda Yassa, the keynote speaker at the summit, emphasized that women are one of the most important contributors to achieving sustainable development and striving for a clean carbon-free environment.

Pointing out that her role is no less than the role of men in finding solutions to the challenges of climate change and supporting efforts for a sustainable future, she pointed out that, with countries adopting the new sustainable development goals for the year 2030,

 

Represents the world’s recognition of the importance of the role of women in achieving sustainability Dr. Hoda, highlights the leadership role of women during the era of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, where she was able to assume leadership positions in various fields such as the National Security Advisor to the President of the Republic, holding 8 female ministers in one government, a judge and president of the Economic Court in Egypt and other positions.

Dr. Yassa referred to her successful experience as a leading woman, in her capacity as Chairman of the Board of Directors of H Yassa Group, a group in which more than 14,000 employees and workers work for the manufacture of environmentally friendly industrial products and disinfectants, stressing that thanks to the support of the Egyptian state for women, she was able to manage the group with that large amount of employment with ability and imitation on climate change and women,

Dr. Hoda Yassa, confirmed in her speech, said that women play an important role in the climate change issue, through awareness, rationalization of consumption, environmental protection, and resource management.

Dr. Hoda revealed, the important role of women in reducing the negative effects of climate change, especially in the areas of rationalizing the consumption of water, energy, and natural resources.

Pointing to the experience of Liberia in Africa, where women work to promote solar energy as an alternative source to the more dangerous and expensive kerosene and reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and other examples in various countries.

Dr. Hoda added, “Through my presidency of the Federation of Arab Women Investors, the most important goals of the Union included observing the environmental requirements in any investment project. The Environment Committee was established, and it undertakes the tasks of preparing environmental studies for any new investment project.

Where this study represents the pass for the establishment of the project in different stages she announced that the agenda of the Conference and Exhibition of the Arab Women Investors Union in its 26th edition, Arab-African Investment and International Cooperation, which is expected to be held during the period from October 30th to November 3rd, 2023 in Sharm El-Sheikh, in the presence of major personalities, businessmen and women from various Arab, African and international countries at the forefront of his agenda is cooperation between governments, civil society and the private sector for economic development under the current circumstances.
